Interlibrary Loan

To request materials found in iLink (RCC Library Catalog)

If you are unable to find material in the RCC library, and wish to search other community college libraries in North Carolina, change the library text box from Randolph to ALL. This will search 46 North Carolina community college libraries that are members of our consortium.

If you find a title in our library that is checked out, or if you need a title located at another library and wish to request it in iLink:

  1. Click on the Details button to the left of the title.
  2. Click on Place Hold (first link in the box on the left).
  3. Key in your complete student ID card number in the user ID text box (this number should start with 29875). You do NOT need to enter an alternate ID or PIN.

    NOTE: YOU MUST FIRST REGISTER YOUR STUDENT ID CARD AT THE LIBRARY BEFORE YOU CAN PLACE A HOLD IN iLink.

  1. Click the Place Hold button.
  2. Your name should appear with a confirmation that the hold has been placed.
  • You will be notified as soon as the material is received.
  • There is no charge for interlibrary loans from other libraries.
  • It may take 7-10 business days to receive an interlibrary loan request.
  • Overdue charges still apply to interlibrary loans.


To request materials found in WorldCat:

Forms are available at the circulation desk to request material from OCLC (Online Computer Library Center). This system includes public libraries, colleges and university libraries throughout the world. You can access WorldCat via NC LIVE.

Please Note:

  • Most libraries charge for photocopies.  The charge may vary from 10-15 cents per page up to a flat fee of $10.00 or more.
  • It may take 7-10 business days to receive an interlibrary loan request.
  • You will be notified as soon as the material is received.
