An UnCANny Deal!

Have your library fines accrued?  Pay them off with cans of food!

During the RCC spring registration period (Nov. 2 - Dec. 14), the RCC Library is running a "special" on overdue library items and fines.  We realize times are difficult right now, and we want to give students an opportunity to wipe out library flags that can sidetrack the registration process.

Students can have those pesky overdue fines removed by returning an overdue RCC Library item AND TWO CANNED FOOD ITEMS for each book or other library item.  Your overdue fine will be forgiven, and your record will be cleared for registration.

Already returned your library item and the overdue fine has your record flagged to prevent registration?  Just bring in TWO CANNED FOOD ITEMS for each library item that you had overdue, and we will forgive your fine. You will be cleared by the library for registration.

Know people who are not students at RCC but would like to participate and, in the process, clear their RCC Library records?  Pass along the word that we will give non-students the same deal during this period.

Don't have any overdue library items or library fines but want to donate canned food?  We can handle that, too!  The canned food collected by the RCC Library will be donated to local food shelters, so all donations to benefit needy families in our area are accepted and appreciated!

There are a few restrictions:
1.  Canned food items cannot be used to "pay" for lost or damaged library items.
2.  Overdue library items MUST be returned along with the canned food (or have previously been returned) for
overdue fines to be forgiven.
3.  This amnesty program is not applicable for fines already paid; we will not refund money.
4.  Canned food past its expiration date will not be accepted.
5.  The canned food amnesty is valid ONLY during Nov. 2, 2009 - Dec. 14, 2009
