You can search the catalog by author, keyword, title, periodical title, series, or subject.

- You can renew books, check due dates, and review fines by clicking on My Account (requires your student ID or library card barcode number).
- You can search the Reserve Desk to locate materials by Instructor, Course Number or Course Name. Reserve materials are located at the library Circulation Desk.
- The library maintains many more resources than those recommended below, so it is important to browse the shelves around the call number to locate other relevant resources.

 Criminal Justice Periodicals
Comprehensive database of U.S. and international criminal justice journals. The database provides research support for students interested in careers in criminal justice, law enforcement, corrections administration, drug enforcement, rehabilitation, family law, and industrial security. The database includes abstract and indexing for 240 titles, with more than 80 available in full-text.
NC LIVE (selected databases)
Academic Search Premier – a general database containing full-text articles and citations from scholarly sources on many subjects.
CQ Researcher Online – provides coverage of social and political issues, health, international affairs, education, the environment, technology, and the U.S. economy.
Crime in North Carolina (Uniform Crime Report) – Law enforcement reports of crime data by county.
Newspaper Source Plus – provides full-text of many major American & international newspapers.

American Civil Liberties (ACLU) Criminal Justice
Includes criminal justice issues such as juvenile justice, death penalty, racial bias, search and seizure, sentencing and prisons, and war on drugs.
American Law Sources On-Line
A large collection of links pointing to law sources (cases, statutes, etc.), commentary on the law (law reviews, other commentary, books), and practice aids (e.g., court information, official forms, other resources) organized by U.S. states, Canada, and Mexico.
Criminal Justice Links
From Florida State University School of Criminology and Criminal Justice. Includes web links organized by topics such as federal criminal justice agencies, crime and prevention, juvenile justice, police, courts, forensics, media, drugs and alcohol, etc.
Find Law
Provides comprehensive, plain-English legal information to businesses and individuals. Offers comprehensive information, resources and services for law practice and legal career development, including free case law, an online career center, breaking news, newsletters, message boards, service directories, continuing legal education and legal search tools.
Internet Library of Law and Court Decisions
Contains information on court decisions affecting the World Wide Web. Decisions are indexed by subject, cases are organized alphabetically by case name, followed by a brief synopsis of the decision. If the case is of interest to you, click on the case name, and you will be taken to a more complete description of the court decision.
Landmark Supreme Court Cases
The standard resources available for each case include: background summaries and questions, diagrams of how the cases moved through the court system, excerpts from the majority (and where appropriate) the dissenting opinions, and links to the full text of the Supreme Court's decisions.

National Criminal Justice Reference Service
Provides links to all Department of Justice agencies such as the Bureau of Justice Statistics and Office for Victims of Crime. Highlights major events, legislation, and newly published reports. Includes direct links to abstracts and full-text databases for searching publications and finding statistical reports.
Public Library of Law
Excellent search engine for locating free online law resources including cases from the U.S. Supreme court, courts of appeal, & all 50 states back to 1997. Also includes statutory law & codes from all 50 states, as well as regulations, court rules, constitutions, and legal forms. "Largest free law library in the world" created by FastCase.
